Greetings to guests and participants

I welcome on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation and myself the organizers, participants and guests of the XIII International Aviation and Space Salon.

In May MC-21-300 planes and Ka-62 helicopter had successfully effected the first flights. These machines are absolutely modern and competitive in the world market; this fact is confirmed by contracts for their delivery.

Perspective complexes of frontline aircraft T-50 pass the state tests, Sukhoi Superjet-100 aircrafts are supplied under government and commercial contracts, projects of profound modernization of Tu-160 and Il-96 are being realized, the production of the Il-114, Il-112V planes and advanced aircraft engine PD-14 begins, developments of the widebody long-haul plane and the new powerful PD-35 engine are conducted; there are implemented other projects which are demanded not only in the aviation market but also in other sectors. MAKS, as before, will be the venue for the conclusion of profitable bargains in the aviation sphere.

Traditionally, it will be possible to examine at an exhibition the latest developments in the area of various space programs. A number of large international contracts in the sphere of space exploration is prepared for signing. The relevance of mutually beneficial international cooperation and joint projects in this field is enhanced in this complex and rapidly changing world.

This fact once again confirms the correctness of our measures for support and development of the aerospace industry since it stimulates the creation of high-tech products for industrial applications and everyday life. We see that the competence of domestic enterprises in the field of aircraft gas-turbine engines can be used in shipbuilding, oil and gas branches, power production and other industries. Developments in the sphere of avionics are in demand in the area of telecommunication technologies and communication. The materials created for aviation and spacecraft are used in medicine and in everyday life. And it is, in fact, the essence of scientific and technical progress.

We can be proud of many embodiment examples of this process, but we have no right to reduce the rate of it.

The present MAKS is another bright opportunity to show our achievements, to host specialists from different countries and other distinguished guests. MAKS is traditionally filled with a positive mood, it is the site not for the confrontation but for handshakes. So we say "welcome" to all those who are not indifferent to aviation and wish to participants, organizers and guests of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 mutually beneficial cooperation, creative communication and unforgettable impressions.
