Aviasalon JSC will support evolvement of aerobatics sports

Aviasalon JSC, an official organizer of International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS, entered into the agreement for interaction and cooperation with the All-Russian Public Organization “Federation of Aerobatics Sports of Russia” (FAS). The document sets forth the intentions of the parties to develop and promote aerobatics sports by joint efforts.

The agreement provides for the exchange of experience and information as well as implementation of the projects aimed at patriotic upbringing of the youth, promotion of aerobatics sports and healthy lifestyle. The partners intend to hold sports, exhibition and demonstration programs, aircraft exhibitions.

“Throughout the decades, the aerobatics sports were a springboard for the youth to the world of aviation. Many test pilots, military and civil experts and even cosmonauts began conquering heights with mastering aerobatics. The agreement with the Federation serves to develop and promote sports, as well as to involve the youth in this sphere”, Alexander Levin, Director General of Aviasalon JSC, pointed out.

“We expect that our cooperation will significantly promote the audience appeal and popularity of all areas of the aerobatics sports. The performance of the strongest pilots both from Russia and abroad on the MAKS Cup will be the real festival for spectators”, Sergey Krikalyov, President of the Federation of Aerobatics Sports of Russia, noted.

MAKS Cup, an aerobatics tournament, will become one of the main joint projects. The first regional stage is expected to take place in September 2018 as part of Hydroaviasalon-2018 exhibition, and the finals will take place in the sky above Zhukovsky at MAKS-2019.

The Federation of Aerobatics Sports of Russia has prepared the special regulations for the Cup, which will allow pilots not only to show their skills, but also to make flights spectacular and entertaining. Each 6 min performance will include 10 aerobatic maneuvers as part of the voluntary program, to be carried out with background music. Four highly competent judging panels will assess flights, and the participants to take the maximum number of points will be the winners. The awarding of winners will take place at MAKS-2019.

The International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019 is included in the list of international military-purpose exhibitions to be held in the territory of the Russian Federation in 2019 (Resolution No. 2403-r of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 30, 2017). The venue of the event will be Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the State Corporation for Assistance to Development, Production and Export of Advanced Technology Industrial Product “Rostec”.

Aviasalon JSC, tracing its history back to February 1992, is the official organizer of International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS, held in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, since 1993. It also acted as executive directorate for Mosaeroshow-92, a specialized industrial exhibition. Aviasalon organized International Mechanical Engineering Technology Forums, exhibitions of arms and military equipment OboronExpo, and other events.

The Federation of Aerobatics Sports of Russia develops, organizes and promotes aerobatics sports, including among children, youth and students. The Federation improves the forms of organization of aerobatics sports by holding days of aerobatics sports, tournaments, master classes and other events, as well as facilitates the holding of sporting events, strengthens its links with the international sports organizations and represents the Russian sports in the international arena. The significant element of the activities carried out by the FAS of Russia is the development of pilot training and retraining programs, including those aimed at enhancing the flight safety.
