On July 21, the 13th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 opened up its doors to all aviation enthusiasts. In spite of adverse weather, it was visited by 86,700 people, including 8,300 students who took part in the Student’s Day events.
Contracts and Supplies
The majority of aviation equipment supply contracts were signed in the first three days of MAKS, yet on Friday business activity persisted, too. Russian Helicopters Holding entered into an agreement for the supply of two Ansat helicopters and one Mi-171 to China. The Russian vehicles will be operated by 999 Emergency Response and Rescue Center. Furthermore, the holding company signed a memorandum of understanding with Gazprombank for the joint promotion of products in the Russian market and the development of proposals for government actions with the aim of boosting aviation equipment sales.
State Transport Leasing Company and Novikombank entered into a cooperation agreement. The document provides for the possibility of all-in-one banking, including the rendering of services related to lending and financing for the day-to-day operations of STLC, investment and other projects of the company.
OOO Aviasalon and Aerospace Technologies Research and Manufacturing Association executed an agreement of intent for the supply of 50 begalets, developed for operation at the MAKS 2019 in Zhukovsky.
On July 21, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation O.E. Bocharov presented technology breakthroughs for protected digital manufacturing. They are developed under the program for shaping a common digital space for Russia’s industry known as "4.0 ru."
The promising small aircraft TVS-2-DTS was presented. Other events include a round table on light aviation and airsports development issues.
The 2017 novelty – MatchMaking platform for business appointments – continues bringing together potential partners. July 21 witnessed more than 360 MatchMaking meetings at the collective display stand "Made in Moscow" and at the Congress Center. Consequently, more than 1,120 preplanned business contacts took place in the first three days of MAKS.
On July 21, OOO Aviasalon conducted the Student’s Day which offered the students of higher and secondary education institutions an opportunity to visit the airshow for free and take part in the vocational guidance programs. 8,300 young men and women seized the opportunity of familiarizing themselves with the display, watching the flights and receiving information about the industry's enterprises.
The subsidiaries of United Aircraft Corporation, Rostec State Corporation, as well as domestic higher education institutions met with the students. The lecture entitled "How an Aircraft Flies – the Fundamental Principles of Flight" was delivered by Boeing’s professionals.
The display entitled "Academic Science and Youth Creativity in Aviation Technology" hosted a career fair of the leading enterprises representing the aviation industrial, space and missile sectors. 12 employers posted their vacancy details.
Flight Demonstration Program
On July 21, the first public day of the MAKS 2017, the event was visited by 86,700 people, who outbraved adverse weather. The rain made adjustments to the flight demonstration program, yet none of the scheduled performances by eight aerobatic teams was canceled. During these performances, there was a storm of applause from the audience.
Extra pairs of electric trains have been scheduled for the ease of access to MAKS on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The maximum number of free buses will run along the line from the Otdykh and 42 Km stations to bring visitors to the airshow venue and back.
Starting from July 21, beefed-up security measures were introduced for law enforcement agencies. According to the emergency response team, no offences and emergencies were recorded.
