Innovations – Aircrafts
The MAKS 2017 is rich in innovations, a number of aircrafts are demonstrated to the general public for the first time. This Tuesday, we are going to speak about cutting-edge aircrafts.
The MiG-35 4++ generation multipurpose jet fighter has been installed on the podium near United Aircraft Corporation’s pavillion and simply attracts the salon visitors’ attention. The machine equipped with a high-power engine, state-of-the-art radar and advanced avionics package is able to accomplish effectively tasks related to both winning air superiority and destroying onshore and offshore targets.
Another aircraft, which has never been demonstrated at the MAKS before, is designated for initial pilot training. The Yak-152 piston aircraft is meant to be the successor of the Yak-50 and Yak-52, the most serial aircrafts in their class, "trainer aircrafts" for dozens of thousands of teenage boys and girls. Yak-152 took part in flying displays on July 18, their serial production is being launched in Irkutsk.
The TVS-2-DTS aircraft developed by Siberian Aeronautical Research Institute reached the MAKS 2017 site on its own although its first flight took place in July 2017. This all-composite aircraft, informally called "coal cropduster," resembles the legendary An-2 it is meant to replace. The TVS-2-DTS has the outstanding takeoff and landing characteristics of its predecessor but faster speed and long-range capabilities, ensuring lower flying cost per hour.
Tuesday, July 18, saw a 24-minute program hosting the domestic aircraft industry novelties. The program was opened by the aircrafts manufactured by Russian Helicopters holding company. The SSJ100 and Be-200 aircrafts, as well as the cutting-edge MiG-35 and Yak-152 demonstrated gorgeous aerobatics.
