Press conference of MAKS-2017 Organizers

June 6, Moscow – Organizers of the XIII International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 held a press conference on preparation of the event. Mr. Oleg Bocharov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr. Viktor Kladov,Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy of Rostec State Corporation, and Mr. Alexander Levin, General Director of Aviasalon JSC answered the journalists’ questions in the Press Center of the Russian News Agency TASS.

Mr. Bocharov directed attention of the audience to the fact that current year would become a landmark for nationalaircraft construction. “We demonstrate our achievements pointedly, clearly, and unequivocally”, he emphasized. Deputy Minister reminded to the journalists that flight tests of a passenger liner MS-21, a multipurpose helicopter Ka-62, and a fighter MiG-35had already been started. He claimed that factory test ofIl-112V light military transport aircraftwere scheduled to the end of the year.

Speaking ofthe show agenda, Mr. Bocharov pointed out that helicopter Ka-62, undergoing intensive flight test in Arsenyev (Primorsk Territory), would not be exhibited at the salon in Zhukovsky; however, live broadcast of the flights that would allow to introduce the all-new product in a well-deserved mannerhad been planned. He clarified that decision on demonstration of the first flight model MS-21 at MAKS would be made based on the results of the flight test. Moreover, Mr. Bocharov announced a series of newly-designed products in the area of agricultural aviation, general-purpose aviation, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Mr. Kladov referred in detail to business agenda of the salon MAKS-2017. “Already, a vast amount of science and business conferences has been pre-arranged. For the first time we will hold MatchMaking seminarswhere our leading holdings will communicate with their counterparts”, he pointed out. Mr. Kladov added that integrated structures of the State Corporation would take an active part in the event. “AlllargeRostecholdingswilltake part”, hestated.

Inhisturn, Mr. Levin noted that the exhibition agenda was being developed at high rates. According to him, as of the beginning of June more than 95% of exhibition space has been booked, while chalets have been booked in full. “More than 770 participants have already applied, among them approximately 140 participants represent other countries, 30 in total”, he specified. A flight program that is expected to be extremely intenseis also under development. “We revive thetradition of receiving foreign aerobatic teams ofjet-propelled planes”, Mr. Levin pointed out, implying participation of the aerobatic team AlFursan from UAE at MAKS-2017. He claims that 84 aircraftsin total will be involved in flight program, 116 more aircrafts will be demonstrated on static stand.

XIII International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 will be held on July 18 - 23, 2017 at the airfield of M. M. Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky (Moscow Region). Organizers of the event are Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Rostec State Corporation, while Aviasalon JSC is the official host of the salon.

As of the beginning of June, more than 95% of exhibition space has been booked and participation of more than 770 companies representing 30 countries all over the world has been confirmed. As many as 84 aircrafts will take part in flight program, while eight aerobaticteams will show their skills.
