RUSSIA AND UKRAINE WILL PROMOTE THE ANTONOV AN-38 TOGETHER
On August 22 the Novosibirsk production enterprise in and ANTK Antonov (Ukraine) signed an agreement on the development and implementation of the program aimed at the modernization of the Antonov An-38 and manufacturing of its new models. The agreement was signed in the frames of MAKS-2007.
The agreement also provides terms for the establishment of a joint enterprise which will provide a full scale of services for the clients, including the aircraft adjustment to the needs of the client, manufacturing and delivery of the Antonov AN-38 and after-sale services.
The light Antonov An-38 can seat 27 passengers or 2.5 tons of mail and cargo and can be used by local airline companies. At the moment the Antonov An-38-100 is used by many companies in Russia and Malaysia. Russia’s total market demand for the Antonov An-38-100 until 2015 is estimated at over 130 aircrafts.
