AEROFLOT, VAMC-400 AND SNECMA WILL JOIN THEIR EFFORTS


   On August 22 at MAKS-2007 the “Aeroflot Russian airlines”, “Vnukovo aircraft-maintenance center – 400” and the French SNECMA Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding, according to which the companies will create a joint venture to build a maintenance base in Russia for major and general servicing of the CFM56 engines used in the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.
   According to the agreement signed by Aeroflot’s CEO Valery Okulov, Head of VAMC-400 Alexey Chernyshev and SNECMA Services CEO Jean-Lin Fournereaux, the details of the joint venture will be worked out by mid-2008.
   Russian companies use quite a number of the CFM56 engines. By 2010 Aeroflot alone will have 56 double-engine aircrafts using these engines
