UABC and Alcoa signed agreement on technologic cooperation

Moscow (Russia), New York (USA), 22.08.2007. – Alcoa and the United Aircraft Building Corporation (UABC) announced the agreement, according to which Alcoa will provide the UABC with advanced materials, modern functional concepts and production technologies for construction and manufacturing of new generation civil aircrafts. The agreement signed in the frames of the 8th International Aerospace Show MAKS-2007 provides terms for technologic cooperation aimed at the development of new generation aircrafts in accordance with the UABC’s strategy to take the third place in the world rating of airplane manufacturers by 2015.

“Ot vinta!” Festival gathers talented youth

Open festival of youth art ”Ot vinta!” (Let’s get going!), organized in the frames of MAKS-2007, attracted visitors’ attention. During the first day of the airshow Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, First Vice-Premier Segey Ivanov, Head of Federal Industry Agency Boris Aleshin and UABC CEO Alexey Fedorov watched the works made by schoolchildren and university students.

NPO Saturn held round table discussion for scientists

On august 22 MAKS-2007 held a round table discussion “Strategic partnership between universities and representatives of the aviation industry”. Heads of the Central Institute of Aviation Engine Building and All-Russian Institute of Aviation Materials as well as representatives from universities of aviation and technology gathered at the NPO Saturn demonstration stand in order to discuss the problems and exchange experience of training professionals for aviation and engine-building companies.

DLR MAKES CONTRACTS WITH RUSSIAN PARTNERS

Köln/Moscow. Today the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Russia’s Federal Space Agency (ROSKOSMOS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the DLR “Verification on Orbit” program (OOV). The aim of the agreement is to implement projects dealing with technological test runs based on the German OOV program.

“BURLAK” TO BE TESTED IN OCTOBER 2007

OAO NPO Saturn announced its readiness to test the new D-30KP-3 “Burlak” (Hauler) engine in October 2007. The company is demonstrating its engine for the first time on the Ilyushin Il-76LL flying laboratory aircraft.

IFC AND AVIAIMPORT S.A.SIGNED CONTRACT: AIRCRAFTS GO TO CUBA

August 22. MAKS-2007. OAO Ilyushin Finance Co., an aviation leasing company, and Aviaimport S.A., a Cuban foreign trade company, signed a memorandum of intent. According to it Cuba intends to modernize its fleet by means of acquiring Russian aircrafts.

ALCOA, UAC SIGN AGREEMENT

MOSCOW, RUSSIA and NEW YORK, NY – August 22, 2007 -- Alcoa and Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) today announced they have signed an agreement on the 22-th of August, 2007 whereby Alcoa will supply UAC with advanced metallic materials, modern structural concepts and manufacturing technologies for UAC future generation civil aircraft. The agreement, signed today at the Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKC 2008), includes joint technology cooperation on next generation UAC aircraft and is part of UAC’s plan to become the third largest civil aircraft manufacturer in the world by the year 2015.

AHC SUKHOI, SCA AND ALENIA AERONAUTICA CREATE JOINT VENTURE

Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company (JSC), Sukhoi Civil Aviation (CJSC) and the Italian Alenia Aeronautica have signed an agreement on strategic partnership, according to which a joint venture company SuperJet International has been founded. AEROFLOT, VAMC-400 AND SNECMA WILL JOIN THEIR EFFORTS

On August 22 at MAKS-2007 the “Aeroflot Russian airlines”, “Vnukovo aircraft-maintenance center – 400” and the French SNECMA Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding, according to which the companies will create a joint venture to build a maintenance base in Russia for major and general servicing of the CFM56 engines used in the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.

AEROPLEX BECOMES AIRUNION’S TECHNICAL PROVIDER

At MAKS-2007 AirUnion, the union of Russia’s air companies, made an agreement with the Hungarian Aeroplex. Aeroplex will provide maintenance services to the Russian union for the Boeing 737, Boeing 767 and in the nearest future for the Boeing 757.
