MAKS 2009 IS SUCCESSFULLY FINISHED
Zhukosky, August 23 - IX International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2009 successfully finished its work. The Exhibition, which was located in halls with total area of 31 750 m^2, was held in August 18 - 23 in Zhukovsky. The Exhibition was held at high organizational and professional level. 735 companies from 34 countries including 507 companies and organizations from Russia participated in the Salon. As it was at previously held Aviation Salons, corporations and holdings tended to participate in MAKS with united stands. Expositions of the following Russian companies could be seen at MAKS 2009: United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), organizations of United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom, Sukhoi Company (JSC), Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG, United Engine Building Corporation (took part in MAKS for the first time). Also for the first time united exposition of Rostehnologii State Corp. with stands of leading concerns and holding was introduced at the Salon. Exposition of the Russian Space Agency was located in the special hall.
228 foreign companies took part in the Salon, including 9 national pavilions: national pavilion of France (37 companies), national pavilion of Germany (22 companies), national pavilion of Belgium and Netherlands (18 companies), national pavilion of USA (10 companies), national pavilion of Czech Republic (13 companies), national pavilion of Ukraine (17 companies), national pavilion of Canada (Ontario) (8 companies), national pavilion of Switzerland (5 companies), national pavilion of Belarus Republic (5 companies). Three of these national pavilions were organized for the first time. Participation of each national pavilion was supported by special events, organized with participation of Embassies, trade representatives and attachés of respective countries that supported their participants during preparation for the Salon. Among the largest foreign exhibitors of MAKS 2009 one could name: EADS Concern and European Space Agency (Europe), Safran group of companies and Thales (France), concern Finmeccanica and company Elettronica (Italy), the Boeing Company and United Technologies Corporation (USA), AVIC and CASC Corporations (P.R. China), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Corporation (India), Israel Aerospace Industries (Israel), Antonov ASTC and À. Ivchenko Corporation (Ukraine), Diamond Aircraft Industries (Austria). Altogether 4 000 m^2 of exhibition space in halls were rented by foreign exhibitors. In opinion of foreign participants, level of the Exhibition as for business contacts, business program and rendered exhibition services has increased comparing to previous Aviation Salons. In comparison with MAKS 2007 quantity of foreign participants decreased by 5%, but volume of rented exhibition space stayed at previous level.
Representatives of all leading world aerospace shows participated in work of the Salon, 10 of which were introduced with their own stands.
120 companies demonstrated military products. Russian exhibitors introduced 1449 exhibits, including 740 full-scale natural samples.
Main objectives of the Aviation Salon are: demonstration of Russian aviation and space industry and continuation of integration of Russian organizations into world aviation industry.
For the first time MAKS became not only the exhibition ground or the business ground - the visiting session of Government of the Russian Federation was held within its frameworks. The session moderated by the Head of Government Vladimir Putin considered questions concerning support of national aviation industry.
During its work (August, 18 - 23) MAKS 2009 welcomed over 550 000 visitors, including 65 000 business visitors from 80 countries.
During MAKS 2009 a number of contracts and agreements worth approximately $10 billion were signed. This sum is much bigger than the volume of financial transactions made during MAKS 2005 ($5 billion) and MAKS 2007 ($3 billion). In particular in the field of combat aviation a big contract was signed on purchasing till 2011 of 48 fighters Su-35S, 12 fighters Su-27SÌ and 4 fighters Su--30Ì2 for Russian Air Force and also equipment and armament (estimated cost - $6 billion).
In the field of civil aviation the most important agreement was signed between a leasing company IFK and an Atlant-Souyz Airlines on delivery of 45 aircrafts, including 15 Tu-204SM and 30 An-148 (estimated cost $1,2 billion). Also IFK signed firm contracts, precontractual agreements and options on delivery of 6 aircrafts of Vladivostok Avia Airlines, 5 aircrafts for Saratov Airlines, 2 aircrafts for Aviastar-Tu and Clean Air, and also other agreements on delivery of 90 vehicles in total. Sukhoi Civil Aircrafts signed the firm contract on delivery of 2 SSJ-100 for Jakutiya Airlines. Aeroflot and VEB-Leasing Company agreed to finance the delivery of 10 SSJ-100. Finally, Rostehnologii State Corp. acting in the interest of Rosavia applied for delivery of 65 aircrafts (50 - on firm contract and 15 - option).
Russian Helicopters JSC signed an agreement on delivery of 20 Ìi-171 helicopters to Airfreight Aviation. India signed agreements on purchasing of 26 kits of RD-33 engines and cooperation agreements, according to which Ufa Engine Industrial Association will deliver components to Pratt & Whitney. Besides, agreements on resumption of work on An-70 program, on development of technical requirements to modernized An-124-100 Ruslan and on development of new strategic bomber by Tupolev JSC in the interests of Russian Air Force.
The most important section of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2009 became the wide business program (www.aviasalon.com), which consisted of more than 70 events. In the work of the business program took part more than 3000 leading Russian and foreign specialists of aviation and space field. Business events were held at a really high level - they made this program one of the most informative among events that are held during other aviation salons. One of the most important business events was the Second European Congress for Transport Aviation. It brought up such questions as the actual situation of world market of transport aviation in crisis conditions and perspectives of its development, actual market offers of avia-transport vehicles, infrastructure provisions of development of this market segment, political format of problems of development of transport aviation and a very important question concerning investments. 160 delegates from Russia, Ukraine, Moldavia, Uzbekistan, India, Germany, Dania, Holland, Czech Republic, Italy, France, including representatives of European Union form Brussels and European Aviation Safety Agency EASA, took part in the Congress.
10-th International Conference for fluid control, measurements and visualization FLUCOME-2009 was attended by more than 100 delegates from 18 countries. Stands of companies that work in the field of development of visualization and registration systems were introduced. Youth Forum of University Science and Avia-tech Art of Youth was held under the patronage of the Government of Moscow region, aiming to attract attention of young generation to aviation and cosmonautics and also to attract attention of legislative and executive authorities to questions of training and education and maintaining human resources of Russia. Also the following events took place: conference called Flight Safety and Operations Support for Civil and State Operators - Main Problems and Ways of Solving, where great attention was paid to questions of flight safety and operation support in aviation industry; Forum Trends and Outlook for Development of Business Aviation and General Aviation Markets in Russia, where questions of revival of the general aviation in Russia were brought up. Business program became a platform for dialogue on a very high professional level with foreign partners and contractors, where decisions were made concerning worldwide challenges and disputable international issues that infringe interests of the Russian Federation. United Aircraft Corporation, UIC Oboronprom, Russian Helicopters JSC, Moscow Government, Government of Ulyanovsk region had their own programs of events.
In spite of world economic crisis, full-format flying program was formed with participation of Russian and foreign companies: UAC, Sukhoi Company, Russian Aircraft Corp. MiG, UIC Oboronprom, Russian Helicopters JSC, Dassault Aviation, Alenia Aeronautica etc.
In total 189 flying vehicles participated in MAKS 2009 (150 Russian and 39 foreign aircrafts). Total number of demonstrational flights - 241, aircraft participated in the flying program - 84.
At the static display aircrafts of the following companies were demonstrated: UAC, Sukhoi Company, Russian Aircraft Corp. MiG, UIC Oboronprom, Russian Helicopters JSC, Tupolev JSC, Il JSC etc.
Among foreign flying vehicles on the static display one could see aircrafts of Antonov Company, Hawker Beechkraft (USA), Diamond Aircraft Industries (Austria), Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Italy etc.
Russian Air Force traditionally took part in the static display exposition with demonstration of 18 aircrafts and helicopters of different categories and modifications. Business aviation and general aviation were represented by 50 airplanes and helicopters. The legendary aircraft Tu-144 and the giant cargo aircraft An-124 opened exposition of the static display. Also on the static display retro aircrafts from Great Patriotic War period - I-15 and DIT - were demonstrated.
In the flying program of the Salon participated the following modern airplanes and helicopters: the new Russian regional aircraft Super Jet 100, Jak-130, MiG-35D, MiG-29Ì OVT, MiG-29Ê, MiG-29 SMT, Su-30 MKI, Su-35, Su-29 KS, Tu-214SR, Tu-214-300À, Tu-334, Il-96-400Ò, Il-114-100, An-148-100 Êà-52, Mi-28N, Mi-34S and many others.
The following aerobatic teams and aircraft - demonstrators provided success of the MAKS 2009 flying program: Frecce Tricolori and the S-27 aircraft (Italian Air Force); Patrouille de France and the Rafale aircraft (French Air Force); Russian Knights, Swifts, Russian Falcons (Russian Air Force). In framework of MAKS 2009 demonstrational contests for Gran Prix of MAKS 2009 was held for Russian parachute elite.
The 9th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2009 attracted great attention of mass media representatives. Russian and foreign specialized and business mass media became informational partners of MAKS2009, among them periodical media, radio, TV-channels, Internet sites, information agencies. Informational and commercial partnership was represented as full-scale informational support of preparing and working period of MAKS 2009 (www.aviasalon.com).
In work of MAKS 2009 participated 595 Russian and 315 foreign mass media. 3000 journalists, photographers, representatives of radio, TV, print, electronic and other media were accredited.
In the MAKS 2009 press-center comfortable conditions were created for maximum convenience of mass media representatives: it was fully conditioned, technically equipped, had free Wi-Fi Internet access.
Participants of MAKS 2009 and mass media representatives were able to use 5 conference halls for 50 - 150 people, which were equipped with all necessary audio and video equipment.
During MAKS 2009 46 events were held in halls of the press-center including the visiting session of the Government of the Russian Federation, Forum for Business Aviation, Round table Russia-France, 4 conferences, 3 seminars, 6 presentations, 21 press-conferences.
For more comfortable work of photographers and TV-journalists a special media-platform was constructed for photo and video shooting.
High international status of MAKS 2009 was confirmed by great interest shown from the side of foreign delegations (64 countries). With purpose of military and technical cooperation 137 representatives of military departments and industrial corporations from 48 foreign countries visited MAKS 2009. As a result 256 meetings and negotiations were held.
For the first time voluntary assistants (volunteers) were attracted to MAKS 2009 servicing. This was a first experience of such kind of cooperation between specialized Universities and AVIASALON JSC. Totally 700 volunteers worked for MAKS 2009.
Job Fair - Recruitment, Training and Retraining of Staff was held in framework of MAKS 2009. Leading AIC organizations took part in the Job Fair: SRI n.a. Tikhomirov, RAC MiG, Khrunichev FSUE, FSUE RISDE, FSUE SRPE Bazalt, recruiting agencies: Aviapersonal, recruiting Internet portals SUPER JOB, HEAD HANTER, Flight Attendant School, aviation training center Comp Lang. 3000 attendees became participants of the Job Fair. During the Job Fair a lot of master-classes and consultations concerning carrier building were held.
Aiming to develop creative talents in children and youth AVIASALON JSC and its partners Stolitsa Fund and Nauka I Zhizn magazine held two art contests in framework of the MAKS 2009 business program: the all-Russian art contest for children and youth MAKS 2099 - FLYING VEHICLES OF THE FUTURE and the second Moscow Open Festival of Children's Art OFF WE GO! supported by the Moscow Government.
