Composites in the Sky

The Application of Composite Materials in Civil and Military Aircraft Industry International Workshop Conference held by the Union of Composite Manufacturers in cooperation with the Mir-Expo Exhibition Company has become one of bright events of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2009.

The main purpose of the Conference has been demonstration of an active and rather successful activity of both civic and military enterprises and institutions busy with innovative elaboration and manufacture of composite materials for aircraft construction.

Competitive power of the Russian aviation industry, especially in the conditions of economic crisis, depends on implementation of innovative materials competitive in price, quality and life duration. Considering that aircraft components made of composite materials are notable for high strength, lightness, thermostability, performance ability by high humidity, ability to adsorb radio emission and other, the Conference covered the principal features of composite materials including the ones in constructions of aircrafts, and new technologies of composite application.

Within the Conference, Airtech Europe S.A. Company in cooperation with VIAM Institute demonstrated the sample of a panel provided with an integrated power unit having caused a great interest of all participants.

The Conference was attended by over than 200 visitors including specialists, experts and journalists.

We express hope that holding the Conference within the forthcoming MAKS-2011 will become a good tradition of the Event.
