HUMAN FACTOR IN AVIATION AND PROBLEMS OF MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT OF FLIGHTS SAFETY OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT STATES

(First symposium on aviation medicine)

The first Symposium on aviation medicine entitled Human Factor in Aviation and Problems of Medical Psychological Support of Flights Safety of the CIS devoted to the centenary of the medical flight certification of Russia will be held  in the framework of the International Aviation and Space Salon 'MAKS 2009' in August 19, 2009. The Symposium will be organized by the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) along with the Association of Aerospace, Navy, Extreme and Ecological Medicine International Public Organization and Center of Medical Education and Certification headed by Professor Vlasov V. D., Doctor of Medical Science, President of the Association and Chief of IAC Division for Coordination and Development of Aviation Medicine.

At the Symposium, it is planned to discuss the common vision of the aeromedical system of the flight safety support to the States participating in the civil aviation Agreement that considers  the use of airspace as well as the means of harmonization and improvement of the corresponding normative and legal basis. Holding meetings of the kind would become constant and traditional, for it would be really vital to understand the whole significance of the medical flight support and participation of the heads of aviation industry in joint discussions of such most actual aeromedical problems as introduction of optimal flying time norms, 24-hour common operation time, pre- and post-flying time of the aircrew rest.  It would also be necessary to unite the efforts of aviation administrations and medical aviation specialists in the matter of the flight personnel health support including its professional activity prolongation.

Main topics of the Symposium are as follows:

• Harmonization and unification of the normative and legal aeromedical basis of the States participating in the Agreement considering ICAO international standards and recommended practice;
• Human factor in aviation and its role in development of aviation accidents;
• Problems of medical support to aviation and space flights;
• Aviation specialists' state of health. Civil aviation medical flight certification and the means of its improvement;
• On the matter of pre-flying and pre-shift control system;
• Aviation specialists' improvement of resistance against professional activity affects;
• Aviation psychological problems;
• Flight labor, stresses and other factors - a piece of history.
