Production of the Antonov AN-124 to be revived
On August 22 at MAKS 2007 Volga-Dnepr Group, OAO "Motor
Sich" and ANTK
Antonov signed an agreement on the revival of the Antonov
An-124-100 Ruslan series production.
The first stage was marked by the development
of the Antonov An-124-100M-150, an upgraded model with carrying capacity up to
150 tons. The aircraft received an airworthiness certificate.
Later Volga-Dnepr and ANTK Antonov intend to
renew the production of the transport airplanes, placing an order on 17
aircrafts. Motor Sich will design a modified 4th series D-18T engine especially
for these aircrafts.
