AIR FORCE AT MAKS 2009

Air Force of the Russian Federation will take part in the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2009, which will be held next week in Zhukovsky. Besides exhibition of Air Force aviation technics on earth, advanced aerobatics will be shown in the sky by famous aviation Air Force squadrons.

“In the flying program of MAKS 2009 will take part aerobatic teams from Kubinka – Russkie Vitayzi on fighter Su-27 and Strishi on MiG-29; from Lipetsk aviation center – Sokoly Rossii on Su-27 and Su-34; from Center of operational use and retraining of flying personnel of army aviation - on fighting helicopters Mi-28H “Night hunter”, - said Lt. Col. Vladimir Drik.

In the sky over Zhukovsky famous aerobatic teams Russkie Vityazi and Strizhi will demonstrate the highest level of flying skills in individual and in group flights. In joint flight they will demonstrate rhombus from 9 aircrafts - 5 Su-27 and 4 MiG-29. Military pilots will conduct aerobatic figures: basic loop, “shell”, “curve” etc. Honored military pilot of the Russian federation Col. Igor Tkachenko will lead this group.

Air fight in front of guests of the Aviation Salon will be conducted by pilots of aerobatic team Sokoly Rossii of Lipetsk Center of operational use and retraining of flying personnel of Air Force under command of Major General Alexandr Kharchevsky. In the program of Lipetsk aces there are tactical maneuvers of face-to-face air fight with usage of defensive and offensive maneuvers including the so-called “bell”. In mixed fighting order tactical aviation wing of Lipetsk Aviation Center will be represented by Su-34, Su-24, Su-27 and MiG-29. At the end of the flying program of aerobatic team Sokoly Rossii visitor will see single flight on the front bombardier Su-34 with elements of aerobatics – it will be presented by General Major Alexandr Kharchenko.

On earth Air Forces of the Russian Federation will be represented by exposition of 18 different examples of aviation technics. Representatives of the Press-Service of Air Forces also noted that within the frameworks of the Aviation Salon MAKS 2009 press-conferences are planned with participation of Commander-in-Chief of Air Force General Colonel Alexandr Zelin and Deputy of Commander-in-Chief for armament General Major Oleg Barmin.
